Newquay’s New Hotspot: TALLO Brings Bold Italo-American Flavours to Porth

Published On: 12 March 2025Last Updated: 12 March 2025By

A new Italo-American eatery has landed in Newquay, bringing big flavours and a relaxed coastal vibe. TALLO, the latest venture from the team behind Harbour Brewing, Treleavens Ice Cream, and The Atlantic in New Polzeath, is now open at SeaSpace, Porth.

A Taste of Italy with a New York Twist

TALLO blends Italian classics with New York-style dining, all while using fresh Cornish ingredients. Diners can enjoy jalapeño and cheddar arancini, prawn po’ boys, pork ragu mafaldine, and crab pappardelle with samphire, alongside a menu packed with bold, seasonal dishes.

Group Head Chef Grant Goodson, who trained under Jamie Oliver and Gennaro Contaldo, brings his international experience to the table. “Me and the management team behind this new venture want TALLO to be a place that’s loved by locals and visitors alike, becoming a regular go-to for easy, laid-back, affordable eating and good times,” said Grant.

Bottomless Brunch and Late-Night Vibes

From 8th March, TALLO will host bottomless brunches on alternate Saturdays, serving up crispy chicken waffles with maple syrup, toasted croissant with smashed avocado, and American pancakes with mascarpone and blueberries—all paired with handmade cocktails.

Evening diners can enjoy high-stack burgers with secret sauce, pizza fritti with hot honey, and a boozy house tiramisu, alongside regular live music nights and events.

Exclusive Perks for Locals

TALLO is offering a local membership card with 10% off food and drink (excluding July and August), plus priority access to events and music nights.

Stylish Interiors with Atlantic Views

Designed by Cornwall-based studio Linea, TALLO’s interiors feature black and white tiling, mint green accents, high bar stools, retro-style booths, and floor-to-ceiling windows, making the most of its stunning ocean views.

Ben Harper, CEO of SeaSpace, said: “From day one, SeaSpace has been about offering something fresh, new and exciting for guests and locals, with a shared spirit that puts coastal lifestyle first. TALLO has taken that idea and run with it full speed to create a place that’s brimming with feel-good energy.”

Ed Cooke, CEO of The Camel’s Back, added: “This latest venture confirms our commitment to the Cornish food, drink and hospitality scene – a place where we’ve been active investors for over a decade, committed to creating and growing great brands, employing local people, sourcing local ingredients and celebrating the county we all love so much.”
