Newquay Lifeguards Smash Gruelling Swim Challenge in Just 38 Minutes

Published On: 3 August 2024Last Updated: 3 August 2024By

In an impressive display of determination and teamwork, the RNLI Newquay Lifeguards have successfully completed their 200-lap swim challenge in just 38 minutes. This achievement marks a significant milestone as they celebrate the RNLI’s 200th anniversary, demonstrating their dedication both in and out of the water.

A Test of Endurance

The challenge was no easy feat, with the lifeguards pushing themselves to swim 200 lengths underwater and an additional 200 lengths of freestyle. Their commitment and endurance were evident as they took to social media to share the news with their supporters. Last night, the team posted on Facebook, “We did it!!! Our amazing team completed our challenge in 38mins!!!! That’s 200 lengths under water and 200 lengths of freestyle 🏊‍♂️ our just giving page is still open 🙏🏻 more photos and video to follow….”

Support Still Needed

While the lifeguards have conquered their physical challenge, they are still looking to reach their fundraising target. As of now, they have raised £180 via their JustGiving page, which is 36% of their £500 goal. The team is urging supporters and well-wishers to continue donating to help them reach the finish line in their fundraising efforts.

To support the Newquay Lifeguards and the RNLI, donations can be made through their JustGiving page here.
