Half-Term Beach Safety Alert: RNLI Lifeguards Patrol Five Newquay Beaches

Published On: 27 October 2024Last Updated: 27 October 2024By

From the 26th October, RNLI lifeguards will be keeping watch over five popular beaches in the Newquay area throughout the half-term holidays. Crantock, Fistral, Towan, Watergate, and Mawgan Porth beaches will be patrolled daily from 10am until 5pm, ensuring beachgoers have support during this busy period. The lifeguard service will run until 3rd November, covering the entire holiday week.

Beach Safety First: Use Patrolled Beaches for Water Activities

With the half-term break drawing visitors to the coast, the RNLI advises that anyone planning water activities use one of these five patrolled beaches. Lifeguards will be stationed to provide safety assistance, contributing to a secure environment for surfing, swimming, and other seaside activities.

Emergency Response Information

If you spot someone in difficulty in the water, the RNLI urges you to call 999 immediately and ask for the Coastguard. Their guidance is clear—swift action could make a critical difference.

Enjoy a safe and enjoyable half-term holiday by choosing the patrolled beaches and following RNLI advice for peace of mind.
