Beach Lovers Called to Action: Fistral Beach Clean Kicks Off 2025 Tomorrow
Morning Cleanup with a Cause
Fistral Beach Clean is hosting its first cleanup of 2025 tomorrow, Saturday 25th January, inviting volunteers to help protect one of Cornwall’s most iconic beaches. The event starts at South Fistral, with participants meeting at either the top of the stairs leading to the beach or below the café from 08:45am for a 09:00am start.
Focus Areas: Dunes, Paths, and Microplastics
Volunteers will focus on collecting litter from the dunes, surrounding footpaths, and the beach itself. Special attention will be given to removing microplastics from the strand line, a critical step in safeguarding marine life and the environment.
The cleanup concludes at 10:00am, with the group gathering at the RNLI station at North Fistral.
Weather and Tides
The forecast for the event promises sunny and dry conditions, although it’s expected to feel cold due to winds from the SSE. Participants are encouraged to check the Met Office forecast for updates. Saturday’s tides are as follows:
- Low tide: 08:05 (2.7m)
- High tide: 14:03 (5.2m)
How to Join
Volunteers are reminded to bring suitable gloves for the cleanup. If arriving late, bags and litter grabbers will be left near the steps onto the beach or below the café. Anyone joining late is asked to notify Andy of their participation.

Protecting the Environment Since 2010
Fistral Beach Clean has been giving back to the environment since October 2010. Organisers encourage everyone to consider spending a few moments picking up litter, whether on the beach or in their local neighbourhood.
