Discover the Power of Nature: 6-Week Wellbeing Programme Launching at Tehidy
A six-week nature connection for wellbeing programme is about to begin at Tehidy in Camborne, offering participants the chance to restore, discover and find calm through guided experiences in the natural world. Organised by Nature Connects, the course follows research-backed methods designed to enhance personal wellbeing and deepen connections with nature.
Fully funded places are available for those in need, but bookings are essential. The programme is not free, with a full cost of £225, but funding can be requested.
Taster Session This Thursday
For those interested in learning more, a taster session will be held this Thursday, 20th March. This is open to potential participants and referrers, offering an opportunity to experience the approach before committing to the full programme.
What to Expect
The course consists of a weekly three-hour session with a core group of 6 to 12 participants, designed to build strong bonds and equip individuals with lifelong nature connection routines. Sessions will be facilitated by Sarah and Victoria, experienced in creating inclusive and non-judgemental spaces for learning and reflection.
The programme follows the five pathways to nature connection, developed through research by the University of Derby, which has been shown to provide multiple benefits.
- Calm – Reduce stress and enhance wellbeing by grounding into the senses.
- Restore – Reconnect with the natural world to restore attention and inner balance.
- Discover – Find meaning, purpose, and inspiration through self and group reflection.
Hands-On Learning
Participants will have opportunities to:
- Learn about local flora and fauna
- Build fires and taste wild food
- Immerse in the seasonal rhythms of nature
Sessions often take place around a fire circle, providing a space for reflection and sharing. On completion of the programme, participants will have the chance to join the Nature Buddies community, continuing their journey of connection and discovery.
