Minack Theatre’s 2025 Season Revealed: Box Office Opens 10th February
The wait is almost over for theatre lovers as Minack Theatre’s box office opens on Monday 10th February at 10am for all advertised events. Those keen to secure tickets ahead of the crowd can take advantage of priority booking from Monday 3rd February at 10am. Details on priority booking can be found on the Minack membership page.
What’s Coming to the Minack?
This year’s lineup is packed with an exciting mix of theatre, live music, and comedy, bringing fresh takes on classic stories and new productions to Cornwall’s iconic clifftop venue.
A Cornish Legend Comes to Life – The Mermaid of Zennor
The Mermaid of Zennor, a Minack Theatre production written by John Brolly with music by Ben Sutcliffe, promises magic, mystery and mayhem as a school trip to Zennor church spirals into chaos. Featuring members of the Minack Youth Theatre, this fresh reimagining of the Cornish legend of Mathey Trewella is bursting with new songs and high-energy performances.

Dracula Rises Again – One-Man Horror Performance
Dracula, The Vampyr sees Cornish actor David Mynne return with a one-man performance that promises to be “Dark! Disturbing! Daft!” Directed by Simon Harvey, this fresh adaptation of Bram Stoker’s gothic horror is set to deliver garlic, gore, and a monstrous tale of the undead.

3 Daft Monkeys – Folk Festival Favourites
3 Daft Monkeys bring their high-energy, world-folk fusion to the Minack. Known for their theatrical live performances, the band’s latest album Information Camouflage has been hailed as “album of the year 2024”.

Comedy Meets Adventure – Treasure Island
Treasure Island by Le Navet Bete transforms Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic pirate tale into a hilarious, high-energy comedy for all ages. Expect swashbuckling action, surprise twists, and a mermaid you’ll never forget.

Timeless Tales – The Wind in the Willows
The Wind in the Willows from Illyria Theatre promises a nostalgic journey through the British countryside, following Mole, Rat, Badger, and the ever-extravagant Toad. This outdoor adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s much-loved classic explores friendship, adventure, and the lure of the open road.
The Pirate Queen – A Musical Epic
The Pirate Queen, written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg (the creators of Les Misérables and Miss Saigon), follows the true story of Grace O’Malley, the Irish chieftain who defied expectations to lead her people. Featuring Irish music, sword fights, and political intrigue, this historical musical is a must-see for fans of epic storytelling.
Scott Matthews – Award-Winning Songwriter Live at the Minack
Scott Matthews, an Ivor Novello-winning singer-songwriter, brings his soulful, atmospheric sound to the Minack. Matthews has toured with Rufus Wainwright, Robert Plant, and Alison Krauss, and his latest album, Restless Lullabies, continues to push the boundaries of his artistry.

Disco Fever Meets Shakespeare – A Midsummer Night’s Dream
A Midsummer Night’s Dream gets a glittering disco makeover in this adaptation by OVO Theatre. Set in a 1970s working men’s club, this production features classic hits from Gloria Gaynor, Bee Gees, and Donna Summer, bringing Shakespeare’s enchanted world to life with a live band under the stars.

Shakespeare in Love – The Birth of Romeo & Juliet
Shakespeare in Love, based on the Academy Award-winning screenplay, follows a young William Shakespeare struggling with writer’s block. With the help of his muse, Viola de Lesseps, and a chaotic theatre troupe, he finds the inspiration for Romeo and Juliet.
The Who’s Tommy – Rock Musical Phenomenon
The Who’s Tommy brings the legendary rock opera to the Cornish coast. This five-time Tony Award-winning musical, based on The Who’s 1969 concept album, tells the story of a boy who triumphs over trauma to become an international pinball superstar.
Sold-Out Shows
The Minack has already seen high demand for Fisherman’s Friends, Seasick Steve, and Les Misérables: Let the People Sing, with all performances of these shows completely sold out.
Book Your Tickets Before It’s Too Late
With such a diverse and exciting programme, demand for tickets is expected to be high. The box office officially opens on Monday 10th February at 10am, but those wanting early access can take advantage of priority booking from Monday 3rd February.
