Car Blocks Hydrant as Firefighters Tackle Millbrook Garage Fire
Firefighters from Torpoint, Liskeard, and Saltash were dispatched to a building fire in Millbrook on the afternoon of 12th September. Crews arrived to find a garage engulfed in flames and immediately set to work while securing a water source. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus (BA) quickly got the blaze under control.
Caravan Caught in the Fire
In addition to the garage fire, a nearby caravan was also involved in the incident. The Liskeard crew tackled the moving caravan, successfully managing the situation to prevent further damage. Both the garage and caravan were swiftly dealt with, and the area was made safe.
Parking Problems Block Hydrant
A warning was issued following the incident as firefighters struggled to access the nearest hydrant, which was blocked by a parked car. Although crews were able to use a nearby hydrant, it required an additional three lengths of hose, costing valuable minutes. The fire service urged residents to be mindful of parking around essential water sources to avoid delays during emergencies.
