Cornish Mental Health Charity Marks 12 Years of Affordable Support: Welcomes 100th Counselling Intern
Cornwall-based Counselling for Social Change, a charity dedicated to making mental health support accessible to those on low incomes, is celebrating its 12th anniversary this month. With almost 20,000 hours of counselling provided across Cornwall, the charity is recognising this milestone with an ambitious plan to extend its services into Devon.
Expanding Support for Mental Health
Lisa Topf, the charity’s Outreach Coordinator, shared her enthusiasm for the charity’s progress, stating, “Over the past 12 years, we’ve been helping people access vital mental health services. We’re immensely proud of what we’ve achieved and excited to build on this momentum as we expand further into Devon and increase our capacity to support even more people.”
Counselling for Social Change has marked a significant achievement by welcoming its 100th counselling intern. “Our mission has always been to offer accessible, affordable mental health support, and welcoming our 100th counsellor is a significant achievement in that journey. We hope to reach even more people who need our help,” Lisa added.
A Commitment to Accessible Mental Health Care
The charity provides a range of services designed to offer an accepting, confidential space for those seeking support. Their services include online, phone, and face-to-face counselling for people across the South West. Beyond individual sessions, they also work with other charities, offering support to activists and campaigners across the U.K.
Support for a Brighter Future
Counselling for Social Change’s mission focuses on empowering clients, promoting non-judgemental care, and treating each person as an individual. As they look forward to the future, their expansion into Devon signals an intent to broaden affordable mental health access for those in need across the region.
