Property in Liskeard Closed by Police Following Reports of Antisocial Behaviour

Published On: 19 June 2025Last Updated: 19 June 2025By

A property in Liskeard has been shut down by police after months of reports about antisocial behaviour, including alcohol-fuelled violence, drug use and loud parties.

The property on Baytree Hill is now legally closed for three months following a full closure order granted on 17th June 2025. No one is allowed to enter the house during that time.

“No one should feel unsafe where they live”

Police say the action was taken after persistent complaints from the community about what was happening at the address.

Police Constable Peter Holland, who supported the investigation, said:

“We received reports of loud music and parties taking place at all hours of the day, which led to alcohol-fuelled fights and violence. There were also concerns of drugs after people reported a smell of cannabis coming from the property.”

PC Peter Holland added that many people visiting the property were linked to shoplifting, criminal damage and violence.

“It was clear that this repeated and continuous behaviour was having a detrimental impact, causing local resident’s concern. No one should feel unsafe, intimidated or worried in the area they live, so it was important we took action to prevent further harm.”

Tenants offered support

Attempts were made to work with the tenants to stop the behaviour, but police say these efforts failed. The tenants have now been signposted to support services while the closure is in place.

“Whilst we know this is only a temporary measure, I’d like to reassure the community that we will continue to engage with the tenants and residents to deter this behaviour from happening down the line,” said Peter.

The closure order was secured in collaboration with the local neighbourhood police team, Devon & Cornwall Police Legal Services and Cornwall Council’s antisocial behaviour team.

Police say public reports were a vital part of the investigation.
