Classic games and ice poles bring summer vibes to school reward day

Students at Launceston College swapped classrooms for croquet and rounders on Wednesday 21st May, as they celebrated the end of term with an afternoon of traditional games and activities on the school fields.

The event, organised to reward students for their hard work and positive contributions this term, turned the college grounds into a festival of classic fun. Pupils took part in a wide range of games, from snakes and ladders and hook-a-duck to archery, skittles and a giant inflatable assault course.

A chance to lead and be recognised

The celebration wasn’t just about fun. Student leaders played a central role in helping to plan and run the event, showing leadership, teamwork and responsibility. Their efforts helped the afternoon run smoothly and added to the inclusive and upbeat atmosphere across the field.

Matthew Thompson, Principal at Launceston College, said:
“It was wonderful to see our students enjoying themselves and being recognised for their efforts this term. The atmosphere was joyful and inclusive, and we were especially proud of our student leaders who played a key role in making the day such a success.”

To help cool off after a sunny afternoon of games, every student was given an ice pole to round off the celebrations.
