Scheduled A30 Nighttime Closures from 19 to 22 February to Facilitate Road Upgrades
The A30 will experience overnight closures from the 19th to the 22nd of February, as announced by National Highways: South-West. These closures, running from 8pm until 6am the following morning, are part of the ongoing upgrades to transform the A30 single carriageway between Chiverton Cross and Carland Cross roundabouts into a more efficient roadway.
The upgrade is a significant part of the Strategic Road Network improvements, highlighting the A30’s importance as a vital transport artery. To support this enhancement, an £8m contribution has been secured from the European Regional Development Fund, underlining the project’s significance in the Government’s Roads Investment Strategy.
For the initial phase on Monday, 19th February, the closure will affect the stretch between Scorrier and Boxheater. Subsequent closures from Tuesday, 20th February, to Thursday, 22nd February, will extend between Scorrier and Carland Cross. National Highways has provided information on diversion routes to assist motorists during these periods.
The planned closures are essential for facilitating the safe and efficient completion of the road upgrades. By investing in these improvements, the aim is to enhance traffic flow, reduce travel times, and increase safety for all road users along this crucial part of the A30. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys in advance and consider the provided diversion routes for their travel during the affected evenings.
