Major Changes Announced for Recycling and Rubbish Collection in Camborne, Redruth, and Lanner

Published On: 11 June 2024Last Updated: 11 June 2024By

Starting from 1st July, residents in Camborne, Redruth, and Lanner will see a significant shift in their recycling and rubbish collection schedules.

Over 5,000 properties will experience a change from their usual Friday collections to a new collection day on Wednesdays.

Why the Change?

The change is part of a broader effort to improve waste management efficiency in the area. While the immediate change will see collections move to Wednesdays, residents are also informed of a further adjustment set to take place in 2025. This future change will coincide with the introduction of a new food waste collection service, highlighting a commitment to enhancing waste management practices.

What’s Next for Residents?

To help residents adapt to these changes, the Council is sending out two versions of the collection schedule. These versions will accommodate the different needs of properties depending on their specific collection weeks (week 1 and week 2).

Esther O’Bearagh, the Waste and Recycling Community Engagement Team Leader, emphasised the importance of community cooperation during this transition period. Residents are encouraged to reach out to the support team for any questions or further details.

For further details or inquiries, residents can contact Esther O’Bearagh directly via email at esther.obearagh@cornwall.gov.uk or by phone at 01872 322222.

Stay informed and make sure to adjust your routines to accommodate the new collection days starting 1st July. Your cooperation and understanding are greatly appreciated as these changes come into effect.
