Walkers Raise Alarm After Casualty Injured on Remote Coastline

Lands End Coastguard Search & Rescue Team were called into action at 11:41am on Saturday 12th April after a person suffered a twisted ankle near Tater Du Lighthouse, a remote spot along Cornwall’s rugged coastline.

Upon arrival at the lighthouse, the team made their way along the coastal path to reach the casualty, who was being looked after by fellow walkers. The injured individual was unable to weight-bear due to the twisted ankle.

Challenging Weather Conditions

With wind and rain adding to the difficulty of the rescue, the coastguard team safely secured the injury before stretcher-carrying the casualty back to the roadside. There, they were handed over to waiting paramedics.

After the operation, the team returned to their station to dry off kit and restock the vehicle, ready for their next call-out.
