Exciting Auction Opportunities in Truro City Centre

A former nightclub at the heart of Truro city centre could soon see a new lease of life. The Office, located on St Mary’s Street, is set to be auctioned with planning permission for conversion into four flats and associated development, subject to conditions set by Cornwall Council.

Auctioneer David Henwood, from Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers, said:
“This is a rare opportunity to acquire an extensive freehold building. It is situated in the heart of Truro city centre, located a stone’s throw from the historic Truro Cathedral. It offers potential for continued use as a nightclub, while the planning permission for residential conversion may appeal to some bidders.”

The property is being auctioned jointly with Miller Commercial and is one of 174 lots in Clive Emson’s first sale of 2025, which concludes on 6th February, with bidding live from 4th February.

Residential Properties in Goodern Drive

In addition to the nightclub, two properties in Goodern Drive are also listed for auction:

  • A semi-detached house with a freehold guide price of £270,000 plus. The three-storey property includes four bedrooms, with potential for a fourth on the ground floor. It is being auctioned in arrangement with MAP Estate Agents. Watch the video here.

  • A two-bedroom flat on the second floor of a purpose-built block. This leasehold property has a guide price of £100,000 plus and comes with designated parking and a new 999-year lease. It is also being auctioned with MAP Estate Agents. Watch the video here.

  • A fire-damaged property in Trevose Road, listed for £20,000 to £30,000. Previously arranged as two flats, it requires substantial renovation, with all future use subject to obtaining necessary consents.

  • Another property in Trevose Road, a semi-detached house arranged as two flats, with a guide price of £80,000 plus. Both flats need comprehensive improvement works.

Beyond Truro, land with planning permission in St Thomas Road, Newquay, is listed for auction with a guide price of £70,000 to £80,000. The site includes consent for demolition and reconstruction of a fire-damaged mid-terrace house, allowing for an extended five-bedroom home.
