Redrow Marks 50 Years with Search for Its Longest-Standing Homeowner in Cornwall
As it celebrates half a century of shaping communities, Cornwall’s esteemed housebuilder, Redrow, has announced a unique campaign to find the company’s longest-standing homeowner in the South West.
This campaign aims to spotlight the enduring relationships built over decades between the developer and residents, while also commemorating a significant milestone in Redrow’s history.
Celebrating Half a Century of Homebuilding
Founded in 1974 with a modest loan of £5,000 from Steve Morgan’s father, Redrow has since evolved into a leading name in the housing industry, with a legacy of over 120,000 homes nationwide. This equates to housing a population as large as Nottingham’s. In the South West alone, since its inception in 1988, Redrow has crafted over 150 residential developments, contributing significantly to local communities and the regional housing landscape.
The Search is On
The centrepiece of the anniversary celebrations is the search for the homeowner who has lived in a Redrow property the longest. This endeavour not only honours the company’s historical roots but also connects with the personal stories and experiences of individuals and families who have made Redrow houses their homes.
Sian Smith, the Sales Director for Redrow South West, expressed excitement over the anniversary, inviting Redrow homeowners to share their narratives, ranging from unique homebuying experiences to life’s milestones celebrated within Redrow’s walls. A £500 prize awaits the resident deemed the longest-standing, as a token of gratitude for their part in Redrow’s journey.
A Legacy of Innovation and Community Support
Redrow’s commitment to innovation is evident in its recent move to equip all new developments with air source heat pumps and underfloor heating as standard, setting a new benchmark for sustainable living. Furthermore, the company’s dedication to community welfare is highlighted through its Community Fund, which has channelled £10,000 in the past year alone into charitable projects across the South West.
Participating in the Celebration
Residents of Cornwall, where notable developments like Mellior Park in Pool and Stourscombe Vale in Launceston stand, are encouraged to join in the celebrations. Those believing to be the longest-standing homeowners are invited to reach out with their stories, ready to be shared across Redrow’s channels and potentially featured in the media.
As Redrow steps into its next half-century, the campaign not only serves as a reflection of its past achievements but also as a beacon for the future, emphasising a continuous commitment to building homes and communities with a deeper sense of connection and sustainability.
Residents interested in participating can send their entries to communications@redrow.co.uk, with the hope of not just winning the prize but also becoming a part of Redrow’s rich and evolving narrative. For terms and conditions, participants are directed to Redrow’s website.
