A small parcel of land in Gunnislake, Cornwall, sold for £7,200, significantly higher than its guide price of £500. The 0.01-hectare plot, located next to Gunnislake Health Centre in The Orchard, was instructed for sale by Cornwall Council. Auctioneer David Henwood remarked on the competitive nature of the bidding for such parcels of land.
Redruth Commercial Units Sold for £63,000
Two commercial units in Redruth town centre sold for £63,000. Located on Alma Place and Market Strand, both units are already let to tenants, providing a total annual return of £8,400. Senior Auction Appraiser Katie Semmens highlighted the investment potential for the new owner with existing tenants already in place.
Cottage Near Penzance Exceeds Expectations
A detached cottage with sea views near Penzance fetched £250,100, £100,000 above its guide price. The two-bedroom property, Pentrew, located in the village of Trewellard, drew keen bidding due to its stunning views and potential for holiday letting or family residence. Katie Semmens noted the property’s attractive features and development potential.
Penryn Period House Sells for £250,000
A large period house in Penryn, comprising five self-contained flats, sold for £250,000. The property on Broad Street includes three one-bedroom flats and two two-bedroom flats. Katie Semmens commented on its potential as a lucrative rental investment or resale opportunity post-renovation.
St Austell Commercial Properties in Demand
A four-floor commercial building in St Austell town centre sold for nearly £100,000. The property, fronting both Fore Street and Vicarage Hill, was noted for its potential for residential conversion on the upper floors, subject to consents. Another detached commercial unit, previously a fish and chip shop, sold for £42,000, offering various usage possibilities for the new owner.
Historic Mine Building in St Agnes Sells for Nearly £150,000
A historic former engine house at Wheal Kitty, St Agnes, sold for £149,100, nearly three times its guide price. The property, part of a former tin mine, saw more than 100 bids during the auction. Katie Semmens highlighted the fierce competition for this unique property, which offers office space and historical value.
