Notification and Reminders

Residents in the impacted zones will receive postal notifications about the change a week before Flora Day to ensure everyone is well informed and can prepare accordingly. This preemptive communication aims to minimise inconvenience and ensure that the festivities can proceed smoothly without affecting the town’s sanitation upkeep.

Planning Ahead

All residents of Helston, particularly those living in the designated areas, are encouraged to adjust their schedules for waste disposal and to keep roadways clear for the festival activities. The adjusted collection timings and the associated road closures are temporary measures solely intended for Flora Day and will revert to normal thereafter.

Helston Flora Day is not only a significant cultural event but also a day that brings the community and visitors together to celebrate spring with dances like the famous “Hal-an-Tow,” which recounts the history of this picturesque Cornish town. As Helston prepares to dress in its festive best, these logistical adjustments ensure that the day will be enjoyed with as little disruption as possible to the regular routines of its residents.
