Helston Murder Investigation: Police Detain Suspects for Further 36 Hours

Detectives investigating the death of a man in Helston have secured a warrant of further detention to keep two suspects in custody for an additional 36 hours. The warrant, granted by Bodmin Magistrates’ Court, comes as enquiries into the tragic incident continue.

Body Found in Helston Business Park

In the early hours of Wednesday 18th December, police were responding to concerns for welfare in the Helston area when they made a grim discovery. The body of a man in his 60s, from the Avon and Somerset area, was found in a vehicle at Helston Business Park. Sadly, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The man’s next of kin have been informed, and police are treating the case as an isolated incident.

Two Women Arrested

Two women, aged in their 50s and 80s, also from the Avon and Somerset area, have been arrested on suspicion of murder, concealing a death, and preventing a lawful burial. The suspects remain in police custody as officers work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police believe the individuals involved were known to each other and have confirmed they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the case.

Police Appeal for Information

An increased police presence will remain at Helston Business Park as the investigation progresses. Officers have urged anyone with information that could assist their enquiries to come forward.
