Helston Estate Agents Help Epworth Hall Fundraising Efforts

Helston Central Methodist Church has received a generous boost to its fundraising campaign, thanks to a £500 donation from Christophers Estate Agents. This contribution brings the community one step closer to the £79,000 needed to replace the aging seating in the Epworth Hall.

A Community Hub

The Epworth Hall, located on Coinagehall Street, plays a significant role in the local community. It hosts regular theatre productions by the Helston Theatre Company, dance and judo groups, Flora Day rehearsals, and various community events.

Fundraising Activities

The campaign to raise funds for the new seating kicked off in September 2023 with a series of events organised by Helston Methodist Church. These included a sponsored head shave evening, a fashion show, and a garden party. The seats currently in use were bought second-hand and have a limited lifespan. New seating would not only be more comfortable but also accessible, with added features like handrails and illuminated steps to assist those with disabilities during performances.

How to Donate

The cost of each new seat is £350, and the church has already raised more than half of the required amount through various fundraising activities. Christophers Estate Agents’ director Patricia Christophers presented the cheque to Rev Danny Reed, who expressed his sincere thanks for the ongoing support.
