The Helston Downsland Charity (HDC) is calling on residents to help shape the future of a cherished local green space. Known as ‘Hospital Cross Fields,’ this area opposite Helston Community Hospital is set to undergo a transformation, and the charity is seeking community input to guide the process.

HDC is exploring a variety of potential uses for the three fields, ranging from allotments and a wildlife space to a bike track or a herbal garden. Melissa Benyon, Chair of HDC, emphasised the importance of preserving such green spaces. “Preserving green spaces has never been more important. They provide a vital refuge for both people and nature, offering mental and physical health benefits that are crucial in today’s world.”
