Healthwatch Cornwall Launches Survey to Gather Views on GP Access
Healthwatch Cornwall has launched a new survey to find out how people across the county are experiencing GP care and what improvements may be needed.
The GP Access 2025 survey is open now and asks residents about recent experiences with their GP, including how easy it was to book appointments, how well they felt listened to, and how accessible digital services and extended hours were.
GP Services Dominate Local Feedback
So far this year, GP services have been the most discussed topic among people in Cornwall, making up 29% of all feedback received by Healthwatch Cornwall.
Of that feedback, 32% has been negative, with concerns raised about long waits, barriers to access and not feeling heard. However, 49% of the comments were positive, suggesting that many people are receiving good care and that there’s a solid foundation to build on.
Public Asked to Share Their Experience
Debbie Gilbert, Chief Executive of Healthwatch Cornwall, said:
“We want to hear from as many people as possible – whether your experience has been great, frustrating, or somewhere in between.
Your feedback helps us speak up for patients and influence positive change across GP services in Cornwall. We’re especially keen to hear from people who face extra challenges, such as carers, rural residents, digitally excluded communities, and people with long-term health conditions.”
The survey is open until Monday 7th July 2025 and takes just five minutes to complete. Responses will remain anonymous and will help inform decisions made by the NHS and local GP practices.
