Discover the Magic of Snowdrops at Pencarrow House & Gardens This Weekend – Charity Event Not to Be Missed!
Pencarrow House & Gardens will once again welcome visitors for its annual Snowdrop Weekend on 8th and 9th February, with proceeds supporting The Cove Macmillan Cancer Care and Maria’s Animal Shelter. Nestled on the edge of Bodmin Moor, Pencarrow is an independent Cornish Georgian gem, offering a stunning backdrop for this seasonal spectacle.
A Weekend of Snowdrops and Giving
Visitors can explore the gardens, which will be open exclusively for this event, showcasing blooming snowdrops and early signs of spring, including camellias. Entry is by cash donation only, with a suggested contribution of £5 per person, taken upon arrival at the drive. All proceeds from the entry fees will be shared between the two chosen charities.
Snowdrop enthusiasts will also have the chance to purchase these delicate flowers, adding a touch of spring to their own gardens while supporting a good cause.
Enjoy Refreshments at Pencarrow
The Peacock Café will be run by the Friends of Pencarrow, serving up pasties and cakes, while additional refreshments will be available in the Old Servants Hall.
Although the house itself remains closed for the winter, the 50-acre estate provides plenty to explore, including its Grade II listed gardens and historic features such as an Iron Age fort.
Dog-Friendly Grounds
As always, dogs are welcome at Pencarrow, though they must be kept on leads around the car park, house, and café areas.
Plan Your Visit
Pencarrow House & Gardens has been home to the Molesworth-St Aubyn family for nearly 500 years and remains privately owned rather than being part of the National Trust. The estate is well-known for its seasonal garden highlights, making it a must-visit destination at any time of year.
