Trebah Garden’s Boathouse Beach Cafe Welcomes Visitors Once Again
In a delightful development for both locals and visitors, Trebah Garden has officially reopened the doors of its beloved Boathouse Beach Cafe.
From today, the cafe is ready to serve its patrons once more, nestled in its picturesque location on Trebah’s private beach, where the vibrant garden seamlessly blends into the Helford River.
This unique spot, historically used by the famed motor racing driver and Healey cars designer, Donald Healey, to house his boats during his residence at Trebah from 1961-71, has been transformed into a cosy haven for guests. The Boathouse Beach Cafe offers a selection of freshly ground ethically sourced coffee from Origin Coffee Roasters and delicious ice cream from Roskilly’s, produced on the opposite side of the river, ensuring visitors can indulge in local flavours while soaking in the stunning views.
Open from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm on weekends only until Easter, the cafe promises to be the perfect retreat regardless of the weather. Whether it’s to warm up with a hot cup of coffee or cool down with an ice cream, the Boathouse Beach Cafe caters to all. Starting Friday, 29 March, the cafe will extend its hospitality to every day, allowing more frequent enjoyment of its offerings.
Trebah Garden, known for its magical sub-tropical landscapes, offers more than just a dining experience. With four miles of footpaths winding through exotic plantings and leading to sunnier climes, the garden is a treasure trove of exploration. It boasts a private beach, a unique outdoor theatre, and numerous secret corners, making it an ideal destination for families, pet owners, and those seeking solitude. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the heritage, creativity, and spirit of innovation that defines Trebah, enjoying its inspiring spaces and unique events throughout the year.
The reopening of the Boathouse Beach Cafe not only enhances the Trebah Garden experience but also celebrates the local heritage and community by supporting local suppliers. It marks another chapter in the garden’s story of providing memorable experiences to its visitors, against the backdrop of Cornwall’s breathtaking natural beauty.
