Mason Brewing Co: A New Chapter in Cornwall’s Brewing Scene

A new microbrewery and taproom is preparing to open its doors, promising to blend the love for traditional British beers with the zest of modern brewing.

Mason Brewing Co, situated in Threemilestone near Truro, is the brainchild of Mike Mason, a seasoned brewer with a rich heritage in the craft.

Mike, who has previously lent his expertise as Head Brewer at The Driftwood Spars in St Agnes and the Brewhouse and Kitchen in Lichfield, is steering this new venture. Mason Brewing Co aims to rekindle the public’s affection for traditional British ales while introducing them to a range of modern pale ales, stouts, and more.

This venture is the culmination of years of aspiration and meticulous planning. Having secured a lease for an industrial unit just a stone’s throw from Cornwall’s only city, Truro, the Mason Brewing team is in full swing, obtaining the necessary licenses and transforming the space into a welcoming brewery and taproom. The grand opening is anticipated for early April, marking a new chapter in Cornwall’s brewing history.

Threemilestone was chosen for its strategic location – west of Truro and not far from Redruth. The area’s proximity to The Royal Cornwall Hospital ensures excellent road and public transport links, making it an accessible spot for both locals and visitors. Threemilestone is a bustling hub with a vibrant mix of businesses, shops, and the independent Pizza Cabina, adding to the locale’s charm.

A cornerstone of Mason Brewing Co’s ethos is community integration. With deep roots in Cornwall, the team is eager to weave themselves into the local fabric. Plans for local charity partnerships are underway, and the taproom will serve as a versatile space for events, celebrations, and tastings.
