Cornwall Street Food Festival Is Back – And the New Venue Is Packed With Flavour
Bank Holiday feast heads to Par Market for the first time
Food fans across Cornwall can mark their calendars – the Cornwall Street Food Festival is back, and this year it’s setting up in a brand new location. From Saturday 24th to Monday 26th May, the popular event will be transforming Par Market into a vibrant hub of flavour, music, and family fun. Entry is completely free, but you’ll need to grab a ticket in advance.
New Location, Same Incredible Food
Having firmly earned its spot on Cornwall’s foodie calendar, the festival is switching things up this year by heading south to Par, just outside St Austell. The event runs daily from 11am to 11pm, making it perfect for lunch, dinner or a late-night bite.
Up to 25 top street food traders are expected to descend on the Stadium Retail Park location, offering everything from gourmet burgers and freshly grilled seafood to Sri Lankan, Italian, Mexican, Afghan, Caribbean, Japanese and more. There’ll be vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options too – so nobody has to miss out.
Sip, Shop and Soak It All In
It’s not just about the food. A huge bar will be serving craft beer, fresh cocktails and soft drinks, while music and local market stalls help create a full day-out experience.
Organisers Street Food Wales and West said:
“We’re incredibly excited to bring the festival down to the South of Cornwall. Par Market is a well-established indoor market celebrating local businesses, and this is our opportunity to add to their thriving community by offering a family-friendly, free outdoor event people can enjoy on their day out to the market. From speaking to locals in the area, a food festival like this hasn’t made its way to the St Austell area and we think that the people of South Cornwall deserve a taste of some of the best street food Cornwall, the South West and beyond have to offer!”
They added:
“The unique thing about Cornwall Street Food Festival is that no two traders offer the same cuisine. You could feast on anything from Sri Lankan to Italian, Mexican to Afghan, Caribbean to Japanese, with food to suit every dietary requirement and plenty to satisfy your sweet tooth. Whether you’re looking to try something new, or just want a banging burger to go with an ice-cold lager, we’ve got everything you need.”
Entry is Free – But Booking is Essential
Although entry remains free, tickets are still required and can be booked now via the official website or directly on Skiddle. For those who don’t fancy queuing, you can add a table reservation for up to six people when booking for guaranteed entry and fast-track seating.
With the festival’s growing popularity, early booking is strongly advised.
