Winners of Falmouth’s Best-Dressed Christmas Windows Announced
Willow & Stone Takes First Prize with Woodland Scene
Falmouth businesses showcased their creative flair in this year’s annual festive window competition, organised by the Town Team. Despite the cancellation of the accompanying Festive Weekend due to Storm Darragh, a record number of local businesses participated, ensuring the town’s Christmas spirit remained undimmed.
Winning Displays Capture the Festive Spirit
The judging panel, which included Falmouth Town Mayor Alan Rowe, faced tough decisions with a “Christmas cracker” selection of entries. Ultimately, Willow & Stone claimed the top spot with their enchanting woodland-themed display. Cream Cornwall’s marine-inspired window featuring hand-wrapped gifts nestled in giant clam shells secured second place. Newcomer Pocketful of Stones impressed with an artistic handmade advent calendar to take third.
Two additional businesses received special mentions for their efforts: Cornwall Art Galleries for their intricate display and Greenbank Hotel for their hand-drawn festive windows.
Celebrating Creativity and Community
Alan Rowe praised the strong participation, saying, “It was encouraging to see the largest number of entries to date for the festive window competition. Falmouth’s local businesses were determined to bring Christmas cheer to the town despite a challenging year. Well done to all those who entered!”
Richard Wilcox, BID Manager of Falmouth, highlighted the event’s importance in showcasing local talent, stating, “Falmouth’s history is steeped in the arts which is demonstrated by the originality and creativity of the local business community in our annual festive window competition. This is a real asset as it enhances our offer greatly and gives another reason to visit and spend time in our special town.”
Although the Festive Weekend could not proceed as planned, the Town Team’s efforts ensured the competition brought joy and creativity to Falmouth, reinforcing the community’s determination to spread festive cheer.
