Will Varley Brings New Album Tour to Falmouth – Here’s What You Need to Know

Singer-songwriter set to perform at The Cornish Bank on 3rd April

English singer-songwriter Will Varley is hitting the road in support of his seventh studio album, Machines Will Never Learn To Make Mistakes Like Me, set for release on 30th May 2025. As part of the tour, he will be stopping in Falmouth on 3rd April to play a headline show at The Cornish Bank.

A Return to the Stage with New Music

Will’s latest album marks his first studio release since 2021’s The Hole Around My Head, and with it comes a fresh batch of songs exploring themes of touring struggles, relationships, and the fragile balance between personal life and a world seemingly on the brink. Produced alongside Tom Farrer in a self-described “ramshackle studio deep in the Kent swamps,” the album features guest appearances from Billy Bragg, Eleni Drake, and Bastille’s Dan Smith.

The tour kicks off in Sheffield on 25th March, taking in multiple UK cities before heading to The Cornish Bank in Falmouth on 3rd April. Following this, Will continues across the country before embarking on a European leg later in the year.

New Single ‘Different Man’ Out Now

Alongside the album announcement, Will has released ‘Different Man’, a track reflecting on life on the road, detailing chaotic tour experiences and near disasters. The accompanying music video features actor Gethin Anthony, best known for his roles in Game of Thrones and Netflix’s Manhunt.

Sharing a glimpse into his songwriting process, Will said:

“I did a lot of touring in the US and Europe over the years, opening for various bands and sleeping on rickety old tour buses that were close to being written off. This is a song about that, and it details some of the scrapes we got into.”

Recalling one particularly memorable incident, he added:

“Like one night we went through a tunnel just outside of New York in the Winter, but the bus was too tall to go through, so the air con units all got sliced off the top of the roof with two huge bangs. It was pitch black outside, and none of us knew what was going on, just that it was suddenly snowing inside. It was 3am and we had to drive like that all the way to Chicago with a mandolin case wedged into the ceiling to stop the snow coming in. That sort of thing.”
