Telecoms Cut in Falmouth: Man Arrested After Saturday Night Disruption

Power Outage Hits Church Street Area

Police are investigating after telecommunications lines were damaged in Falmouth on Saturday evening, affecting services in and around Church Street.

Officers were called at 7pm on 5th April, following reports that lines had been damaged in the area. The incident disrupted services for a number of people, with Openreach currently working to restore the power.

Arrest Made During Enquiries

A local man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage. He remains in police custody.

Detectives are carrying out enquiries in the area and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward. Anyone who may be able to help is asked to contact police by calling 101 or by visiting the Devon & Cornwall Police website. Quote log 751 of 5 April.

Those affected are advised to contact their local provider if they’re still experiencing issues.

UPDATE: CHARGE

Officers have charged a man in connection to damage caused to telecommunications lines in Falmouth.
Jarrod Westlake, aged 34, of no fixed abode, Falmouth, has been charged with criminal damage.
He is due to appear at Bodmin Magistrates’ this morning [7th April].
