Late Night Rescue: Falmouth Lifeboat Crew Saves Three from Broken Down Boat

In the early hours of Sunday, 12 July 2024, the Falmouth Lifeboat crew was called into action following an emergency reported by a stranded vessel.

A 4m RIB (rigid inflatable boat) with three persons on board had broken down near St. Mawes Castle amidst an offshore wind, prompting a rapid response from the dedicated team.

Swift Response and Successful Rescue

At 02:45 am, the lifeboat crew launched their Atlantic 85, named ‘Robina Nixon Chard’, from the Falmouth Lifeboat Station. The crew reached the stranded boat within ten minutes, showcasing their remarkable efficiency and preparedness for such emergencies.

Upon arrival, the crew found the vessel in distress and quickly took the RIB in tow. The troubled boat was safely transported to the pontoons in St. Mawes Harbour, ensuring the safety of all three individuals on board.
