He Went Way Above and Beyond: Falmouth RNLI Volunteer Recognised for Exceptional Effort
Recognition for Lifeboat Training Coordinator
Falmouth RNLI volunteer crew member Adam West has been presented with an Excellence in Volunteering framed certificate for his contribution as Station Lifeboat Training Coordinator.
The award was presented to Adam at Falmouth Lifeboat Station by Falmouth RNLI Coxswain Jonathon Blakeston, who praised his dedication and hard work during a crucial period for the station.
Key Role in Shannon Lifeboat Transition
“Since receiving the news last year that the station would be getting a Shannon all-weather lifeboat, Adam worked tirelessly in organising, and at times reorganising courses, training and pass outs for the station’s volunteer crew,” said Jonathon. “He went way above and beyond what is expected from a volunteer.”
The introduction of the Shannon lifeboat required significant preparation and coordination, and Adam’s efforts helped ensure the transition was a success.
“Through his hard work and determination, Adam got us all through it and this enabled the Shannon to be put on service in late January of this year,” added Jonathon.
Proud Moment for the Team
“Because of this, it was felt that Adam deserved recognition and therefore we are very pleased that he has been given an Excellence in Volunteering Award,” Jonathon said.
The framed certificate acknowledges Adam’s commitment to ensuring the station’s crew were fully prepared and trained ahead of the Shannon lifeboat becoming operational.
