Falmouth’s New Mayor and Deputy Mayor Unveiled at Annual Meeting

In a significant event for the local community, Councillor Alan Rowe was elected as the Town Mayor of Falmouth for the 2024-2025 term.

The announcement was made at the Annual Falmouth Town Council Meeting and Mayor Making ceremony held last night at Princess Pavilion. Alongside Alan Rowe, Councillor Louise Coley was elected as the Deputy Mayor, marking a fresh chapter in the town’s governance.

Supporting the Youth: A Charitable Focus

Alan Rowe has chosen the Young Generation as the Mayor’s charity for the upcoming year. The Young Generation is an award-winning, Falmouth-based theatre company operated by volunteers, catering to young people aged 10 to 20. This organisation has been recognised for its exceptional contributions to the local arts scene and youth development.

A Night of Celebration

Following the formal proceedings, Alan and Louise, accompanied by fellow councillors, family, and special guests, gathered for a photograph in front of the bandstand at Princess Pavilion. The celebration continued in the Garden Room, where refreshments were served. The evening was highlighted by two captivating performances: one by members of the Young Generation and another by the King Charles Church Choir, showcasing the vibrant cultural life of Falmouth.
