Sailing Veteran Tristan Rowe Appointed to Steer Falmouth Harbour’s Future

Falmouth Harbour has announced the appointment of Tristan Rowe as its new Head of Commercial Operations. With over two decades of high-level experience in the marine business and a lifelong connection to the sea, Tristan is set to bring a fresh perspective to the harbour’s growth and development, focusing on sustainability and the needs of the local community.

A Lifetime on the Water

Tristan, a long-time resident of Falmouth, has spent most of his life immersed in the maritime world. His credentials as a seasoned sailor and watersports enthusiast, combined with his extensive career in marine operations, make him a perfect fit for this pivotal role. His previous positions included key roles at Cockwells Boatbuilding, Falmouth’s Pendennis Shipyard, and MacGregor Yachts International, where he honed his skills in after-sales and commercial operations.

In his new role at Falmouth Harbour, Tristan will work closely with CEO Miles Carden to explore new, profitable business streams and projects, all while enhancing customer services and expanding the harbour’s range of offerings.

Strategic Focus on Growth

Falmouth Harbour is at a critical juncture in its growth strategy, with plans to accelerate its development from 2025. Tristan’s strategic focus will be on long-term growth, with an emphasis on capitalising on new marine technologies. According to Miles Carden, Tristan’s wealth of experience in the marine business will be instrumental in overcoming the challenges ahead and ensuring the harbour’s success.

A New Chapter for Falmouth Harbour

Tristan steps into a role previously held by Holly Manvell, who is moving on to concentrate on her trustee roles and the global not-for-profit organisations she founded. These include Clean Sailors, the Clean Sailors Youth Racing Team, and ReSail, a platform dedicated to end-of-life marine materials.

Reflecting on his new position, Tristan expressed his enthusiasm for continuing Falmouth Harbour’s legacy. He emphasised his commitment to representing all stakeholders fairly and improving access to the harbour for everyone to enjoy. His passion for the local community and the marine industry shines through, as he looks forward to contributing to Falmouth Harbour’s future.
