Elderly Man, Companion, and Dog Dramatically Rescued from Muddy Predicament at Mylor Bridge

On 8th June 2024, the Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team was called into action following a report of an elderly man stranded in his dinghy at Mylor Bridge.

The situation took a surprising turn when it was discovered that two people and a dog were trapped and unable to return to shore.

Porthleven Coastguard Also Tasked With Rescue Effort

The Porthleven Coastguard Team, alongside Senior Coastal Operations Officer S11C, were also tasked. With worsening weather and tide conditions posing a significant threat, the teams swiftly decided to undertake a recovery operation.

Specialist Technicians to the Rescue

To ensure the safety of those stranded, two specialist mud rescue technicians were deployed. These technicians expertly navigated the treacherous mud and successfully brought the party, including their canine companion, back to solid ground.
