Magical Christmas Event Returns to Cornwall: Lappa Valley’s Father Christmas Experience

Cornwall’s Lappa Valley invites families to enjoy a festive journey this December

One of Cornwall’s most cherished family destinations, Lappa Valley, has announced the return of its beloved Father Christmas event. This festive experience is set to take place on selected dates throughout December, offering families a magical day out in the run-up to Christmas.

A Festive Journey to Remember

Families visiting Lappa Valley, located near St Newlyn East, will embark on a nostalgic train ride through the picturesque winter countryside. The journey culminates at the historic East Wheal Rose, a location steeped in tradition and adorned with a festive atmosphere, perfect for getting into the Christmas spirit.

Upon arrival, guests can enjoy a variety of seasonal activities, including meeting the man of the season himself, Father Christmas. Guided by his merry elves, children will be led to a special grotto where each will receive a high-quality gift. To add to the festive cheer, both adults and children will be treated to complimentary seasonal refreshments during their visit.

New Attractions and Old Favourites

This year marks an exciting development for Lappa Valley’s Christmas event. For the first time, all three of the park’s railways, including the Newlyn Downs Branchline and the Lakeside Railway, will be in operation, offering unlimited rides as part of the admission ticket.

In addition to the train rides, families can enjoy Lappa Valley’s outdoor play areas, adventure golf, and the all-weather indoor soft play area, all included in the price of admission. The Engine Shed Café will also be open, serving up a selection of home-cooked meals and festive specials, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Ben Harding, Operations Director at Lappa Valley, expressed his excitement about the event’s return, noting that the experience is a highlight of the year for many families. “Slots are already starting to fill fast,” Ben said, advising those interested to book early to avoid disappointment, as previous years have sold out well in advance.

Father Christmas at Lappa Valley will take place on various dates from 30th November to 24th December. With limited slots available, early booking is highly recommended to ensure a place at this popular event. Tickets can be booked online through the Lappa Valley website.
