Bodmin’s popular venue unveils a jam-packed calendar of events

Lanhydrock Hotel & Golf Club, situated just outside Bodmin, is gearing up for what promises to be its busiest Christmas season ever, with a wide array of festive events and activities planned throughout December. The hotel has curated a lively programme of celebrations to ensure that Christmas 2024 is truly unforgettable.

Festive Carvery and Christmas Craft Fair

Kicking off the festivities on Monday, 2nd December, Lanhydrock will be launching its well-loved ‘Festive Weekday Carvery’. Available from 12-2pm on weekdays until 20th December, guests can enjoy either a one or two-course lunch, complete with all the trimmings. From traditional pigs in blankets to red cabbage and brussel sprouts, the carvery is perfect for friends, colleagues, or family to celebrate the season together.

The launch day also includes a special twist—£1 from every lunch will be donated to the Cornwall Air Ambulance, the Captain’s Charity for the year.

On the same day, visitors can also explore the free Christmas Craft & Gift Fair, open from 11am-3pm. Over 30 local businesses will be showcasing an exciting range of handmade crafts, gifts, and food, making it a fantastic opportunity for some early Christmas shopping. From jewellery to festive candles, the fair will be an excellent chance to find unique artisan items.

Creative Workshops and Christmas Party Nights

For those looking for something more hands-on, Lanhydrock will be hosting a ‘Wreath-making Workshop’ on Tuesday, 3rd December. Guests will use eco-friendly wreaths with a “snow cabin theme”, topped off with coffee, biscuits, and a festive carvery meal at the venue’s Nineteen Bar and Bistro.

On Thursday, 5th December, the hotel will offer a special Senior’s Festive Carvery, including a smaller plate option and ice cream sundae for £18 per person. Then, on Thursday, 19th December, the ‘Wicked Lollipops’ electric ukulele quartet will be performing a fun mix of Christmas classics and rock n roll during lunch. Again, £1 from each carvery will go towards the Sunrise Appeal, another worthy cause in Cornwall.

A Mindful Christmas and a Special New Year

Among the many festive activities, Monday, 9th December will see a unique ‘Mindfulness & Make Workshop’. The two-hour introduction to mindfulness is designed to help people find a little peace amid the festive hustle, combining creative writing, a nature walk, and meditation before rounding off the session with the festive carvery.

Lanhydrock will also be hosting its famous Christmas Party Nights throughout December, offering a 3-course dinner, live DJ, and hotel accommodation for businesses and groups looking to celebrate the festive season in style. Party dates include Friday, 6th, Saturday, 7th, Friday, 13th, Saturday, 14th, and Saturday, 21st December.

Finally, Lanhydrock’s Christmas celebrations will conclude with an extra special New Year’s Eve lunch on Tuesday, 31st December. The 2-course meal will include Prosecco on arrival and a choice of festive desserts, ensuring guests can see out 2024 in style.
