Father Christmas Spreads Festive Cheer Across Cornwall: Special Visits Delight Local Groups
Father Christmas brought joy to charities, hospices, and community groups across Cornwall last week, spreading festive cheer to those unable to visit him at the Eden Project. From December 9th to 13th, the man in red shared songs and stories with families and community members, brightening the season for many.
Visits to Falmouth and Liskeard
On Tuesday, 10th December, Father Christmas visited WILD Young Parents in Falmouth. This Redruth-based charity has supported over 15,000 young parents and children, helping families build confidence and foster connections within their communities.
The following day, 11th December, began with a lively singalong for under-fours at St Austell Library. Father Christmas then made his way to Home-Start Kernow in Liskeard, where he connected with parents and children under five. This charity provides essential support to families with young children, offering practical assistance and a friendly face.

A Heart-Warming Stop at Little Harbour
Later that afternoon, Father Christmas visited Little Harbour, part of Children’s Hospice South West in Porthpean. This hospice offers vital care to children and young people with life-limiting conditions, as well as critical support for their families.
Before returning to his Eden Project workshop, Father Christmas made a final stop at Home-Start Kernow in Bodmin, ensuring no corner of Cornwall was left untouched by his festive goodwill.
The Eden Project’s Commitment to the Community
Simon Townsend, general manager at the Eden Project, highlighted the importance of connection and joy during the festive season. “We believe in the power of connection and joy, especially during the festive season. These special visits by Father Christmas are our way of bringing a little extra magic to those who might not be able to come and see him at Eden this year.”
He added, “We hope to spread warmth and cheer to our local community, during what can be a challenging time for many, and celebrate the amazing work these organisations do to strengthen and uplift our community.”
The visits reflect the Eden Project’s dedication to community engagement and fostering wellbeing. Regular initiatives include community weekends offering free or discounted entry for NHS and blue-light workers, care professionals, armed forces, charity workers, and Devon and Cornwall residents.
