Children’s Day is returning to Truro City Centre for its seventh year on Saturday, 6 July, offering a day full of mostly free entertainment and activities for families to enjoy.
The event will feature spectacular mountain bike stunt shows and family fun on Lemon Quay. Walking and cycling charity Sustrans will be back with their free scooter, balance, and pedal bike obstacle course for children, along with an exciting static cycle activity to help young people improve their off-road skills. Bikes and helmets will be provided.
There will be have-a-go sessions in circus skills with Swamp Circus, and this year will also include dance performances from Cornwall Dance School, Jason Thomas Performing Arts, InspirAsian Dance, and Stagecoach Truro.
Children can look forward to inflatables, swing boat rides, family-friendly crazy golf, craft activities, and various stalls. Street entertainment will pop up across the city, and shops and eateries will offer special in-store activities and offers for families throughout the day.
While many activities will be free, some will have a charge. Stalls will open from 9 am, with activities such as circus skills and mountain bike stunt shows starting from 10 am.
Truro businesses are encouraged to join in with in-store activities or offers to enhance the event and attract families. Examples include in-store competitions, art activities, meal deals, or discounts. Businesses interested in participating in Children’s Day can contact the Truro BID team via email: lindsey.craik@trurobid.co.uk.
