Falmouth’s beloved celebration of the native Fal Oyster returns this October with a refreshed look and a bigger programme. Now guided by a new trustee board, the four-day festival marks the start of the oyster dredging season and highlights the unique traditional methods used by Falmouth’s oystermen – still working by sail and oar.
Expect live chef demos, the Oyster Race, the ever-popular shucking competition, food and drink masterclasses, feasts, live music, family fun and more. This year’s events will take place across Events Square and the newly added Princess Pavilions.
