Leonardo DiCaprio’s Latest Film Inspires Immersive Experience at Eden Project
Ozi: Voice of the Forest Comes to Life
To celebrate the summer release of the Leonardo DiCaprio-produced animated family film, “Ozi: Voice of the Forest,” the Eden Project is transforming its Tipis into an immersive Ozi Zone as part of its Wild Life summer programme. Running from 27 July to 8 September, the event promises a unique experience for visitors of all ages.
Star-Studded Film to Hit Cinemas
“Ozi: Voice of the Forest,” a heart-warming tale about Ozi, an orphan orangutan who uses her influencer skills to save her forest home from deforestation, is set to be released by Signature Entertainment in UK cinemas on 16 August, with special early screenings on 10 and 11 August. The film boasts a star-studded voice cast, including Laura Dern, Amandla Stenberg, the late Donald Sutherland, Hugh Bonneville, Dean-Charles Chapman, Djimon Hounsou, and RuPaul. Produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Mike Medavoy, the film aims to highlight the importance of rainforest conservation.
Explore the Ozi Zone at Eden Project
Visitors to the Eden Project can immerse themselves in scenes inspired by Ozi’s rainforest home. The Ozi Zone offers a crafty play area with family games, origami, and activity sheets, providing a fun and educational experience. Kate Francis, Eden Live Producer, expressed excitement about bringing Ozi the orangutan to the Eden Project, which houses one of the world’s largest undercover rainforests.
“We’re taking visitors on a deep dive into the natural world and our place within it, with adventure trails, shadow puppet shows, tantalising challenges and eye-opening exhibitions,” said Kate.
More Summer Fun at Eden Project
The summer programme at Eden Project also features the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, running until 1 September. This exhibition showcases 100 extraordinary images displayed throughout the lush Outdoor Gardens.
The Go Wild family trail offers six trail points where visitors can discover fascinating animals, complete challenges, and collect stamps. For younger visitors, mud kitchens and nature play areas encourage hands-on exploration and imagination.
An enchanting shadow puppet show takes place in a custom-built theatre, and visitors can test their Wild Skills by mimicking a dolphin’s call, comparing their arm length to an orangutan’s, or seeing if their eyes are as big as a colossal squid’s.
The Wild Guardians exhibit provides an insightful look at life on Earth and Eden’s environmental projects. It also offers simple ways for visitors to positively impact wildlife.
Perfect Summer Destination
With over 20 acres of lush gardens, picnic spots, play areas, and a kaleidoscope of summer blooms, the Outdoor Gardens at Eden Project are perfect for exploring during the summer. The Nature’s Playground, a vast outdoor adventure play area introduced last year, offers water play for little ones and a place for grown-ups to cool off with refreshments.
