The Eden Project is set to bring the magic of Christmas to Cornwall with an array of light installations, festive activities, and enchanting experiences for all ages. From 22nd November to 5th January, visitors can enjoy a unique Christmas programme filled with captivating displays and attractions, including the much-loved Father Christmas, a traditional fairground carousel, and the county’s only ice rink.

Extended Opening Hours and Illuminated Biomes

This festive season, the Eden Project’s Biomes will stay open late, glowing with a mesmerising array of light installations that highlight the beauty of the site after dark. Guests will begin their journey in the Outdoor Gardens, moving through a series of seasonal installations designed to evoke the spirit of Christmas. Visitors are also welcomed by a vortex-like tunnel at the entrance to the Link building, offering a stunning prelude to the displays inside.

In the Rainforest Biome, lights are intricately woven with the natural surroundings, creating an immersive experience enhanced by a carefully designed soundscape. This area invites visitors to connect with the beauty of nature, showcased in a festive, reflective light show.

The Mediterranean Biome will also feature an all-new experience, immersing guests in a lively Christmas party atmosphere. The highlight of this area is a spectacular light and sound display, suspended in the Citrus Grove, that will run multiple times throughout the evening.

Meet Father Christmas and Ride the Carousel

A brand-new theatrical experience awaits younger visitors who wish to meet Father Christmas and his merry elves. Children can post their Christmas wishes and receive a special gift after their visit. Those who book to see Father Christmas will receive a golden ticket for a free ride on the enchanting carousel, located in the orchard area just outside his camp. All other guests are welcome to enjoy the carousel for £2.

Festive Crafts and Live Music

Families can partake in a variety of craft activities, including card and decoration making, with local choirs performing live music on select evenings to add to the festive cheer.

Ice Skating at Cornwall’s Only Ice Rink

Guests can also take to the ice on Cornwall’s only ice skating rink, making it a perfect way to enjoy the season. Simon Townsend, the Eden Project’s general manager, said, “We know that Christmas is such a special time for our guests to visit the Eden Project and we are excited to offer them a truly magical escape filled with joy and wonder.”
