The Eden Project is set to captivate visitors this summer with the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, showcasing a remarkable collection of 100 stunning images.

On loan from the Natural History Museum in London, this world-renowned exhibition will be on display from July 1 until September 1, offering a unique glimpse into the natural world.

A Visual Feast in a Picture-Perfect Setting

Visitors to the Eden Project will be treated to an exceptional visual experience, as the images are displayed throughout the outdoor gardens, with the iconic Biomes providing a breathtaking backdrop. The exhibition features photographs that capture fascinating animal behaviour, spectacular species, and the incredible diversity of the natural world. Through the emotive power of photography, these images aim to engage and inspire audiences, highlighting important stories and species from around the globe.

Kate Francis, the Eden Project’s Live Producer, expressed her excitement: “It is an honour to be able to share the absolutely incredible Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition with our visitors this summer. We hope that by showcasing these amazing images in the Eden Project’s lush natural landscape, our guests will be able to form a rich connection to them and the stories told within them.”

Packed Summer Programme of Discovery and Fun

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition is a major highlight of the Eden Project’s summer programme, which runs from July 27 to September 8. This exciting schedule is designed to encourage visitors to connect with the natural world through a variety of family-friendly activities, games, and challenges.

The Stage area will be transformed into an immersive space where visitors can explore the incredible biodiversity around us and learn how it affects our lives. This area will feature shadow puppet shows, craft activities, interactive exhibitions, and games that showcase the skills of some of our planet’s most amazing animals.

In the Arena area of the outdoor gardens, visitors can relax in a vibrant and colourful setting, while younger guests enjoy an under-5s nature play zone. Additionally, there will be an adventurous wild family trail and a giant mud kitchen play area to keep children entertained.

A Platform for Change and Conservation

Dr Doug Gurr, Director of the Natural History Museum, emphasised the significance of the exhibition: “We are facing urgent biodiversity and climate crises, and photography is a powerful catalyst for change. The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition reveals some of nature’s most wondrous sights whilst offering hope and achievable actions visitors can take to help protect the natural world.”

Wildlife Photographer of the Year is developed and produced by the Natural History Museum, London. The competition, which has been showcasing the best photography talent from around the world for nearly 60 years, received an astounding 49,957 entries from photographers of all ages and experience levels this year. The images on display at the Eden Project are from the 59th competition and are part of an international tour that will be seen by over a million people.
