A Feast of Fun: Discover Springfest at the Eden Project This Easter
The Eden Project, known for its giant biomes housing the world’s largest captive rainforest, is gearing up for an exciting Easter event. Dubbed Springfest, this family-friendly festival is set to take place from March 29 to April 14, promising a plethora of activities centred around food, sustainability, and springtime joy.
Springfest aims to merge entertainment with education, offering guests a unique opportunity to explore their relationship with food through a series of fun-filled games and challenges. Among the highlights are milk bottle skittles, hoopla, and buzz wires that trace the journey of food from its origin in the field to the dinner fork. Additionally, an egg-themed scavenger hunt and a marble labyrinth game will engage visitors in learning about the benefits and drawbacks of various diets.
The event is designed with all ages in mind. For toddlers and preschoolers, a dedicated play zone will feature activities like a spin-a-dinner game, a bread-themed scooter track, and a dress-up mini-shop. As children participate in these activities, they can collect stamps to earn prizes, adding an element of adventure to their day.
A craft zone and food-based board games in the Tipi area offer creative outlets for families, while a pop-up market in the heart of the Eden Project site showcases local suppliers. Guests can indulge in a variety of products, including bread, jams, skincare items, and produce from Eden’s geothermally-heated nursery, Growing Point.
The Mediterranean Biome will host a rainbow food quiz, encouraging teamwork and competition as guests answer questions and face challenges. In the Rainforest Biome, a chocolate trail will reveal the secrets behind chocolate making, with a sweet reward for successful explorers.
Tamsyn Lewis, the Eden Project’s Living Theatre Production Manager, expressed excitement about the upcoming event, highlighting the opportunity for guests to celebrate spring and enjoy the outdoors. “Spring is such a wonderful time to explore everything the Eden Project has to offer,” she said, inviting families to partake in the diverse array of games, challenges, and activities spread across the site.
The Eden Project’s Springfest is not just an event but a celebration of the season, food, and family bonding. With its commitment to education, sustainability, and fun, it promises to be an enriching experience for visitors of all ages.
