New Photographic Exhibit to Open at Botallack Count House: Exploring the Changing Landscape of Cornwall’s Mining Heritage

The Tin Coast National Trust is excited to announce the launch of a new series of changing exhibits at the Botallack Count House, kicking off with “Kober, Arsenik, Sten – A Changing Landscape”. This unique photographic display is the brainchild of archaeology student Noah Breslin, who has dedicated his efforts to capturing the evolving social and physical landscapes of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site.

The exhibit showcases a selection of photographs from the Tin Coast section of Breslin’s extensive project, which investigates the transformation of landscapes within this historic mining region. By utilising both digital and analogue photographic techniques, Breslin bridges the gap between past and present, echoing the diverse range of mining technologies found throughout Cornwall and West Devon. This approach not only pays homage to the heritage of the area but also embraces the technological advancements of modern times.

Visitors to the Botallack Count House will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich history and ongoing evolution of Cornwall’s mining sites through Breslin’s lens. “Kober, Arsenik, Sten – A Changing Landscape” promises to offer a fresh perspective on the intersection of technology, landscape, and community in one of the UK’s most historically significant mining regions.
