Tragic Discovery: Body of Missing Woman Found in St Cleer
A search for a missing 79-year-old woman in St Cleer has come to a heartbreaking conclusion on Thursday 10th October, after a body was located in the area. The discovery follows an extensive search operation that began after Anne Stacey was reported missing on Thursday 3rd October.
Ongoing Enquiries
Devon and Cornwall Police are currently treating the death as unexplained, with investigations continuing to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. A formal identification is yet to take place, but Anne’s family has been informed of the discovery. The police have yet to release further details as they continue their enquiries.
Search Efforts
The search for Anne, who had not been seen since 27th September, involved multiple organisations. East Cornwall Search & Rescue Team was called in to assist with additional searches. In a statement posted on Facebook, the team shared that they were deeply saddened by the discovery made early into the search today.
“We’ve been truly humbled by the support from the local community, who have done everything they can to help. We are also grateful for the assistance we’ve had from neighbouring teams and our search dog teams. Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this very difficult time,” the rescue team posted.
