Spate of Criminal Damage to Vehicles Reported in Polruan
On Saturday, 16th March, around 10 am, Looe Police were alerted to a series of criminal damages inflicted on vehicles parked in the Polruan area, specifically targeting those in the Polruan Quay Car Park.
According to the police, between 12 to 14 vehicles were affected by this incident. Some owners have come forward to report the damages, but the authorities believe that not all affected vehicles have been accounted for.
The police are urging owners of the damaged vehicles, who haven’t yet reported the incident, to come forward. They can do so by calling the non-emergency number 101, using the webchat service, visiting the Devon and Cornwall Police website, or directly reporting to the Looe Public Enquiry Office. The aim is to collate comprehensive information on the damages to aid the ongoing investigation.
Additionally, one local councillor is in the process of obtaining CCTV footage from the area, which the police plan to review as part of their investigation. Vehicle owners with dashcams that are motion sensor activated are requested to review their footage and record any pertinent information when they report the incident.
The Looe Public Enquiry Office, located on Station Road, Looe, PL13 2HN, is operational from Monday to Saturday, between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm, providing an avenue for the public to report crimes and seek assistance.
The police have also provided a direct link for online crime reporting: Report a crime | Devon & Cornwall Police, urging individuals to quote log number 316 16/03 when filing their reports.
The Looe Police are dedicated to investigating these acts of vandalism and bringing those responsible to justice. They appreciate the cooperation of the public and the assistance of local council members in gathering evidence and information to solve this case.
