Shocking Incident in Perranporth: Goose Dies After Vicious Attack by Group of Teens
Devon and Cornwall Police are seeking information following a disturbing incident that resulted in the death of a goose at Perranporth Boating Lake and Gardens on Tuesday, 30th July.
Teenagers Involved in Brutal Attack
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 pm near Boscawen Road, where a group of four teenage boys were reportedly seen targeting the geese at the boating lake. According to witnesses, the boys encouraged the geese to leave the lake, before one of them threw a rock at the animals twice, fatally injuring one of the geese.
Goose Dies After Efforts to Save It
A concerned member of the public quickly intervened, taking the injured goose to a local veterinary clinic. Despite their efforts, the goose succumbed to its injuries and died later that night.
Appeal for Witnesses and Information
The teenagers involved are believed to be between the ages of 12 and 15. Descriptions provided indicate that one boy was wearing an orange t-shirt paired with a black and white patterned bucket hat, another was seen in a pink top and red shorts, a third was wearing a black top, and the fourth was in a white top.
Devon and Cornwall Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that could assist in their investigation to come forward. Reports can be made through the police website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 50240190989.
This shocking act of cruelty has prompted calls for increased vigilance and awareness in the community, as police continue their efforts to identify those responsible.
