Shocking Armed Robbery in Penzance: Police Seek Suspect
Detectives are urgently seeking a man in connection with a brazen armed robbery that occurred this morning outside Sainsbury’s on Jelbert Way.
Incident Details
The incident took place at approximately 10:18 am when a man approached a security van and seized several bags of cash from a security guard. The suspect then fled the scene on a small black moped equipped with a distinctive black and red box on the back.
Suspect Description
Police have released images of the suspect, who is described as being over 6ft tall. At the time of the robbery, he was dressed in black clothing and wore a balaclava along with a black bike helmet.
Public Assistance Requested
Authorities are urging the public to avoid approaching anyone matching the suspect’s description. Instead, they should immediately contact police by dialling 999 and quoting log 265 of 20/6/24.
Detectives are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the Jelbert Way area around the time of the robbery and may have dash cam footage or other relevant information.

The police have also issued a reminder to the public to refrain from speculating about the incident on social media. Instead, any information that could assist with the investigation should be reported directly to the police.
