The A30 at Launceston is currently closed in both directions following a serious collision early this morning. Emergency services are on the scene, and the road is expected to remain closed for some time.

Collision Details

Devon & Cornwall Police confirmed that officers were called to the eastbound carriageway at 7:30 am today. An articulated lorry reportedly collided with vehicles, resulting in injuries to two people. Emergency teams are attending to those injured and assessing the scene.

Police Urge Caution for Road Users

Superintendent Si Jenkinson highlighted the challenging conditions on the roads this morning, saying:

“We are receiving a significant number of road-related incidents this morning, including collisions and fallen trees. Our officers are responding to these reports, but I would encourage people to consider whether their journey is necessary.

If you need to travel, please ensure you do so with care. If your journey is not necessary, please consider not travelling at this time.”

Road Closures and Expected Delays

The road closure is likely to cause delays for motorists. Those planning to use the A30 are advised to seek alternative routes and stay updated on the situation through reliable traffic reports.
