‘Scouse Baz’ County Line Disrupted: Three Sentenced for Drug Supply Between Liverpool and Cornwall

Published On: 19 October 2024Last Updated: 19 October 2024By

Three members of a County Line drug group, known as ‘Scouse Baz’, have been sentenced for their involvement in supplying cocaine from Liverpool to Cornwall. The three were sentenced at Exeter Crown Court on Monday, 14th October, receiving a total of nine years and eight months in prison.

Sentencing Details

Dylan Jode, 20, from Redruth, was given a two-year suspended sentence, while Sasha Ball, 23, from Camborne, was jailed for four years and eight months. Brandon McAllister, 28, of Rock Ferry, received a five-year prison sentence.

The sentences follow an investigation by Devon & Cornwall Police and Merseyside Police under Operation Lekker, which uncovered a conspiracy to supply drugs between the two regions from 2022 to 2023.

Arrests and Seizures

On 7 March 2023, police officers from both forces stopped a vehicle on the M5 near Cullompton, linked to the drug supply operation. Ball and Jode were arrested at the scene. Officers seized a bag of cocaine, valued at £10,000, hidden inside an Easter egg box. Four mobile phones, including a burner phone, were also recovered.

Subsequently, a search of Ball’s home in Camborne revealed additional evidence, including a notebook with names, weights, and values connected to the drug trade.

Investigation and Arrest of ‘Controller’

Further investigation identified Brandon McAllister as the ‘controller’ of the County Line. He was arrested in May 2023 during a police raid at his Merseyside home. Mobile phone data analysis revealed multiple trips between Cornwall and Liverpool, as well as messages discussing drug supply and financial matters. Burner phones used by the gang also showed hundreds of messages offering cocaine to local users.

Police Comments

Detective Chief Inspector Ian Jolliff of Devon & Cornwall Police said:
“This operation identified people who held significant roles within a County Line drug network and has disrupted the supply and distribution of cocaine into Cornwall. Officers from our Proactive Disruption Team in Cornwall have been working closely with Merseyside Police to fully investigate this case and bring these offenders to justice over many months.”

Detective Sergeant Gerard Farley of Merseyside Police added:
“All three nominals had a strong footprint in Cornwall and were involved in the significant supply of drugs from Merseyside to West Cornwall. We are pleased they are now behind bars and unable to cause any more harm in our communities.”

Reporting Concerns

Members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicious activity related to drug supply. Information can be reported to the police via 999 for emergencies or through the non-emergency line at 101. Alternatively, anonymous reports can be made through Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting their website.

This operation highlights the cooperation between forces to tackle County Line networks and protect vulnerable communities in Cornwall and beyond.
