Porthtowan: Police Appeal After Woman’s Body Found at Cliffs
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman’s body was found at the bottom of cliffs in Porthtowan.
Emergency Response
Officers were called at 2.55pm on Saturday 8th February following reports of a body being located. The ambulance service and Coastguard also attended, with the body recovered to the beach by lifeboat.
The woman is believed to be in her 20s and from the Truro area, though formal identification has not yet taken place.
Investigation Underway
The death is currently being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious. A file is being prepared for the coroner.
Police are now asking for anyone who may have seen a female at the cliffs in Porthtowan between the afternoon of Friday 7th February and the afternoon of Saturday 8th February to come forward.
Description of the Woman
The woman was described as:
- White, appearing to be in her late teens/early 20s
- Slim build with dark hair
- Wearing black shoes, black trousers, a black top, and a lightweight black coat
- Carrying a red handbag
